Do you find your chin a bit small or receding, or does your face in profile lack a bit of support at the bottom? With a chin filler, you can subtly lengthen or bring the chin forward, so that your face comes into better balance at the bottom. The result is natural and suits your face, not an ideal. On this page, you'll read exactly what a chin filler does, who it's suitable for and when it's better not, how the treatment at Dr T. works, and what you can expect in terms of results, timing, and safety.

A chin filler is an injectable based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in your skin. By injecting a small amount of filler at specific points in and around the chin, we can slightly lengthen, bring forward, or make the chin appear a bit wider and firmer. This helps the lower part of your face balance better with your nose, lips, and jawline.
Many people choose a chin filler because a receding or short chin can throw the profile out of balance, or because it makes the jawline appear less defined. By strengthening the chin as a support point, the transition from chin to neck often looks tighter, without doing anything to the neck itself.
Important to know: a filler adds volume and fills out, but does not change your jawbone. It鈥檚 a subtle contour adjustment, not a chin implant or surgery. For some goals, a filler is the right choice; for others, it isn't, and we discuss that honestly during your consultation.
A chin filler can be appropriate if you have a small, receding, or not very pronounced chin and want to give your face more balance at the bottom. Also, if your profile bothers you or your jawline lacks some support, a chin filler can make a difference. We always look at your entire face, not just the chin in isolation.
Sometimes a filler isn't the best solution. With a severely recessed chin or a pronounced anatomical relationship, the result with filler may be limited, and a conversation about other options is more honest than just adding more filler. Also, with active skin infections in the area or certain medical conditions, we postpone or refrain from the treatment. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, we never treat.
If you have a specific image in mind that doesn't suit your face, we'll say so. Rather a natural, respectful result than a filled chin that doesn't belong to you. During the consultation, we determine together if a chin filler makes sense for you.
We always start with a consultation. Dr T. examines your face from the front and in profile, asks about your wishes, and explains what a chin filler can realistically achieve in your case. Together we decide if, and how much, filler is appropriate and exactly where.
The treatment itself usually takes a short time. The filler typically contains a local anaesthetic, and if needed we can provide extra numbing to keep it comfortable. Using fine needles or a microcannula, the filler is injected at the agreed points and gently moulded until the contour looks right.
Afterwards, you receive clear aftercare instructions: for the first few hours avoid pressing or massaging the area, postpone intense exercise and sauna, and leave the chin alone. You can usually carry on with your day right away.
The nice thing about a chin filler is that you see the result almost immediately. The contour of your chin is visibly adjusted right after the treatment. Keep in mind, though, that there may be some swelling in the first few days, so the final result only settles after about one to two weeks.
A chin filler is temporary. Hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down by your body, so the effect diminishes over time. How long it lasts exactly varies from person to person and depends on the product used and your own metabolism. During your consultation, we discuss what you can realistically expect.
If you want to maintain the result, you can have a touch-up later. Because the result fades gradually, you'll never see a sudden drop-off, just a calm return to your starting point.
A chin filler is a safe treatment when performed by experienced hands, but no injection is entirely without risk. Normal and temporary are slight swelling, redness, tenderness, or a small bruise at the injection site. That usually fades within a few days.
More uncommon are lumps, an asymmetrical result, or an inflammation. Very rare, but important to mention, is a vascular complication where filler blocks a blood vessel. That's why Dr T. works with anatomical precision, and we discuss beforehand the signs to watch for and when to get in touch.
A major advantage of hyaluronic acid fillers is that in most cases they can be dissolved with an antidote. If you're unhappy or if a problem arises, we can often adjust. Honest information beforehand is just part of it for us.
The price of a chin filler can't be captured in a single figure. It depends on how much product is needed to achieve the desired contour, the type of filler, and the complexity of your situation. A small correction requires something different than a more pronounced lengthening of the chin.
During the consultation, you'll therefore receive an honest estimate tailored to your face and your wishes, with no surprises afterwards. We also explain what you can expect for that price and how the result evolves over time.
If you're still unsure whether a chin filler is the right choice for you, feel free to schedule a consultation with Dr T. We'll look at it together, give honest advice, and only choose a treatment if it truly adds value for you.
