Sculptra® Body firms the skin on your body. Dr T. treats areas such as the neck, the décolletage and the hands. The hands are the most requested area, because they stay visible in winter too. The arms, abdomen, buttocks and knees can also be treated. Your skin produces new collagen itself and gradually becomes firmer.
People who lose weight with weight-loss injections look on average 5 years older. There are two reasons for this. The loss of fat reduces volume, so everything starts to sag. On top of that, skin quality deteriorates because the small white fat cells in the skin are broken down (DWAT, Dermal White Adipose Tissue). Sculptra leads to more white fat cells in the skin. Sculptra is not a classic filler, but a biostimulator. The active ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid, is injected into the deeper skin layers. The microparticles activate your fibroblasts: the cells responsible for collagen production. Your body will start building new, firm tissue itself, a process that takes weeks to months.
Unlike hyaluronic acid, which gives immediate volume and then breaks down, Sculptra restores the skin structure from within. The result is a gradual firming, without anyone noticing you've had a treatment. Your skin looks fuller, tighter, and more resilient, as if your vitality returns naturally.

Hyaluronic acid fillers give instant contours and volume, but are broken down by the body. Sculptra requires a little more patience: it stimulates your own collagen, so the firmness grows gradually. It's not a competition between the two, but a matter of what suits your tissue and wishes.

Dr T. also uses Sculptra for the neck, the décolletage and the hands. For filling, he prefers to use different types of filler, depending on the area and the goal.
