Do you feel your chin is somewhat receding, your profile lacks structure, or your lower facial half is less balanced? With a chin correction using filler, you can subtly strengthen your chin line and give your profile more definition, usually without it being noticeable that anything has been done. On this page, you'll read what a chin filler does exactly, who it is and isn't suitable for, how the treatment is performed by Dr T., and what you can expect in terms of results, safety, and costs.

In a chin correction, Dr T. injects a hyaluronic acid filler at specific points around your chin. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in your skin and provides volume and firmness. By adding targeted volume, a receding chin can be brought forward, the chin can appear slightly longer or narrower, and your lower facial half gains more structure.
The goal is not to change your face, but to restore natural proportions. A stronger chin gives your profile more definition and can make the transition to your jawline and neck more harmonious. For women, we usually aim for a refined, soft projection; for men, often a bit more definition and width.
Exactly which points are treated depends on your anatomy and what bothers you. That鈥檚 why every chin correction starts with a thorough analysis of your profile and your face in motion, not just from the front.
A chin filler is a good option if you have a slightly receding or weak chin, want to give your profile more balance, or want to soften the transition between chin, jawline, and neck. Also, if you notice your chin has lost some volume or projection over the years, filler can discreetly adjust this.
However, filler is not always the right choice. In case of a significantly receding chin due to jaw positioning, an orthodontic or maxillofacial surgical assessment may be more appropriate, because filler doesn鈥檛 address the underlying cause. We also don鈥檛 treat if you have unrealistic expectations, an active infection or inflammation in the chin area, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We tell you this honestly during the consultation.
Dr T. always assesses whether a chin correction truly adds something for your face. If a different approach or a combination with the jawline is more suitable, we discuss this openly with you.
Everything starts with a consultation. During it, we look at your face from the front and profile together, discuss what bothers you and what you expect, and explain what is and isn鈥檛 realistic. Only when you feel comfortable with the plan do we proceed.
The treatment itself usually takes a short time. Dr T. disinfects the skin and injects the filler with a fine needle or a blunt cannula at the agreed points. Most hyaluronic acid fillers contain a numbing agent, and we use additional anesthesia where needed so that it remains comfortable. Most people mainly feel some pressure.
Afterwards, you can usually continue your day immediately. We go over aftercare with you, such as not massaging the area firmly and avoiding intense heat or strenuous exercise for as long as Dr T. advises. You receive clear instructions and know who to contact if you have questions.
The great thing about a chin filler is that you see the effect right away. Your chin instantly gets more projection and your profile appears more balanced. In the first few days there may be some swelling, so the final result only fully settles and feels natural once that swelling has gone down.
How long the result lasts varies from person to person and depends on the type of filler, the amount, and your own metabolism. Hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down by your body, so over time the effect fades and you can opt for a touch-up treatment to maintain the result.
A major advantage is that hyaluronic acid is reversible. If you are not satisfied or want to make an adjustment, the filler can be dissolved with a specific enzyme. That gives extra peace of mind for a visible area like your chin.
A chin correction with hyaluronic acid is generally safe when performed by an experienced doctor. Still, it is only fair to be honest about what can happen. Common, temporary reactions are slight swelling, redness, tenderness, or a bruise at the injection site. These usually disappear within a few days.
Rarer risks include lumps, asymmetry, or an inflammation. Very rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, which can have serious consequences. That is precisely why knowledge of the anatomy and a calm, precise technique are so important, and why Dr T. as a physician always works cautiously and with attention to safety.
If after treatment you experience persistent pain, discoloration, or something that doesn鈥檛 feel right, contact us immediately. You are followed up by a doctor who knows how to act, not left to your own devices.
The price of a chin correction depends on several factors, such as the type of filler, the amount needed, and whether we treat the chin alone or in combination with, for example, the jawline. Therefore, there is no fixed price that works for everyone.
During your consultation, we look at what your chin needs and you receive an honest, transparent estimate of the cost before anything happens. That way, you know in advance what to expect, with no surprises afterwards.
