Do you want fuller lips or more definition, without it being obvious that something has been done? With lip fillers in Ghent, we can subtly enhance your lips, refine your lip contours, or restore a small loss of volume. The goal is always a result that looks natural and suits your face. On this page, you'll read what lip enhancement with fillers exactly entails, who it is suitable for and when it's better not, how a treatment at Dr T. works, what to expect in terms of results and timing, and how we honestly handle risks and costs.

Lip fillers are injectable fillers based on hyaluronic acid, a substance your body naturally produces and that binds moisture. By injecting small amounts very precisely, we can make your lips fuller, sharpen the contour, or correct a slight asymmetry.
It's important to know that a lip enhancement isn't the same for everyone. One person wants a bit more volume in the upper lip, another mainly wants to refine the so-called lip bow or the corners of the mouth. We always look at the proportions in your face, not at a standard ideal.
At Dr T. the starting point is subtle and respectful. The result may stand out because you look fresh, not because your lips look treated.
A treatment with lip fillers may be appropriate if you naturally have thin lips, if your lips have lost some volume over the years, or if you want to subtly reduce a slight irregularity or asymmetry. Also, those who want a sharper border between lip and skin can benefit from a fine contour treatment.
Sometimes a filler isn't the right choice. With an active infection or cold sore around the mouth or certain medical conditions, we prefer to wait. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, we never treat. Also, if your expectations are very far from a natural result, we tell you honestly: then a treatment might not be what you’re really looking for.
During the consultation, we discuss your medical history, medication, and previous treatments. If a lip enhancement is not advisable for you, we prefer to say so beforehand rather than afterwards.
Everything starts with a calm conversation. We look together at what you want, what is realistic for your lips, and what you want to avoid. Only when you and Dr T. are on the same page do we schedule the treatment.
Before the treatment, we apply numbing cream and use fillers that also contain a numbing agent, so it stays comfortable. With a fine needle or a blunt cannula, Dr T. injects the filler very precisely. The treatment itself usually doesn't take long.
Afterwards, you receive clear aftercare instructions. We recommend avoiding heat, intense exercise, and firm pressure on the lips for the first few days, and if necessary, we schedule a follow-up to check the result together.
You see the volume immediately, though there may be some swelling and sometimes a slight bruise in the first few days. That's normal and part of the healing process. The true, settled result is best assessed after about two weeks, once everything has calmed down.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent. Your body gradually breaks them down, so the result diminishes over time. How long it lasts varies from person to person and depends on your metabolism and the type of filler. A touch-up later is possible, but never required.
We prefer to build up gradually rather than do too much in one go. This way, we maintain control over a natural result, and you can always decide later if you want a bit more volume.
Lip fillers are generally well tolerated, but it remains a medical procedure. The most common reactions are temporary: swelling, tenderness, redness, and small bruises. They usually disappear on their own within a few days.
Rarer but more serious risks exist, such as lumps, inflammation, or, very exceptionally, a blocked blood vessel. That’s why it’s so important that a lip enhancement is performed by a doctor who knows the anatomy and knows how to act if something goes wrong.
An advantage of hyaluronic acid is that in most cases it can be dissolved with an antidote. If you’re unhappy with the result or in case of a complication, the filler can usually be broken down. We discuss all risks and their likelihood beforehand, so you can make an informed choice.
The price of a lip enhancement depends on what your lips need: the amount of filler, the type of product, and whether it's a first treatment or a touch-up. That’s why we don’t give a fixed price without having seen you.
During the consultation, we assess together what is realistic and you’ll receive an honest estimate of the cost, even before anything happens. That way, there are no surprises and you can decide calmly.
Still unsure if lip fillers are for you? Feel free to schedule a consultation with Dr T. in Ghent. We’ll examine your lips, answer your questions, and give you honest advice, even if that advice is to do nothing.

Make an appointmentEvery natural result begins with a careful study of your facial architecture. The shape, size, and proportions guide precisely where and how much filler we place. Dr T. uses micro-droplet techniques and layered application methods to create a refined look that never screams ‘treated’. We select hyaluronic acid gels known for their supple texture, which blend well with your own lip tissue and honour your original contours.
While traditional fillers mainly add volume, biostimulation can strengthen the lip structure over time. Substances like Sculptra stimulate your own collagen production, but we do not use Sculptra in or around the lips. A combination with skinboosters around the mouth can, however, contribute to hydrated and firmer lip skin. During your consultation, we openly discuss whether a pure filler treatment is sufficient or whether supportive biostimulation further refines your desired natural look.
